According to the World Tourism Forum Institute, Switzerland's high living standards make it one of Europe's priciest countries for accommodation, food and transportation.

High wages, premium public transportation and elevated hotel and dining standards all contribute to Switzerland's higher travel costs.

Switzerland is famous for its beautiful mountain views, great ski resorts, and charming towns, drawing millions of visitors every year.

It set a tourism record in 2025 with nearly 43.9 million hotel overnight stays, a 2.6% increase from 2024.
