The amusement and water park, also known as Suansiam, was flooded after torrential rain hit Bangkok from Sept. 26, leaving numerous rides and attractions submerged, Bangkok Post reported.
Founded in November 1980, Suansiam is the oldest amusement and water park complex in Southeast Asia. It is also known locally as the "Bangkok Sea" because of its large artificial sea, which sustained heavy flood damage and will require renovation.
Management decided to suspend operations for six months to conduct thorough inspections of all rides and carry out comprehensive improvements across the park, it announced on Wednesday.

Wuthichai Luangamornlert, managing director of Siam Park City Co. Ltd., said the flooding was the most severe the park has experienced, surpassing the impact of the 2011 floods, Nation Thailand reported.
Only about 30% of the site was affected in 2011, while almost the entire park has been inundated this time, he added.
The park estimates losses could exceed 100 million baht (US$2.97 million) as it misses revenue from the September-October school break and planned year-end activities, Wuthichai said.
Once the floodwaters completely recede, the park will conduct a full damage assessment to support negotiations with financial institutions for rehabilitation funding.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration declared the capital a disaster-affected area on Sept. 26 after nearly 300 mm (12 inches) of rain fell over 48 hours, leading to flooding on major roads.
The flooding came as Thailand prepares to enter its peak tourism season, with the country targeting 33 million foreign visitors by the end of the year.
