Betty Bromage, who lives in Gloucestershire County, took to the skies just over a year after suffering a stroke, British newspaper The Independent reported.

It was her sixth wing walk. She had first tried the extreme sport, which involves striding along the wings of a flying plane, in 2016, and claimed her first world record at age 93 in 2022.

Her walk this week raised funds for the stroke unit at Cheltenham General Hospital, where she was treated in 2025.

Reflecting on why she keeps taking on the challenge, she explained that life would simply feel too dull otherwise.

Bromage told U.K. state broadcaster BBC that she can no longer drive, her eyesight has weakened, and sometimes feels frustrated by these limits, and so prefers to focus on what she is still capable of doing.

She said her desire to raise money for charity was sparked by a message she saw on a wall at a hospital where she used to work as a nurse urging people to do good and show kindness right away since we only live once.

She plans to think about doing something special to mark her 100th birthday.

Wing walking dates back to the 1920s.

Today, it is done by performers securely fastened to a specially designed frame using safety harnesses.
