The men will be deported from Vietnam after completing their administrative penalties, Vietnam News Agency reported.

The case came to light following an inspection of two accommodation establishments in popular resort city Nha Trang on Aug. 6, when authorities found that the six Nigerian nationals had entered Vietnam in 2024.

The standard tourist e-visa allows visitors to stay in Vietnam for up to 90 days with multiple entries.

The two accommodation establishments were fined a combined VND61.5 million for violations including failing to declare the temporary residence of foreign nationals and allowing foreigners without lawful residence status to stay on their premises.

The Khanh Hoa Provincial Police urged accommodation providers to strictly comply with regulations on declaring the temporary residence of foreign nationals.

In May, eight foreign nationals — six Russians, one Ukrainian and one Kyrgyz citizen — were also deported from Vietnam after authorities found they had breached immigration regulations by engaging in activities inconsistent with their visa status.
