Alma by Juan Amador at Singapore's Goodwood Park Hotel and Euphoria, known for its French-inspired "gastro-botanica" cuisine, closed in August 2025.

Esora, a one-Michelin-starred kappo restaurant, served its final meal in December, while French-Japanese restaurant Chaleur also ceased operations last year.

Despite the departures, Singapore's fine dining scene continued to expand, with six restaurants receiving their first Michelin star at the Michelin Guide Singapore 2026 ceremony held on Aug. 4 at The Raffles Ballroom in Raffles Sentosa Singapore, The Straits Times reported.

The additions brought the total number of one-Michelin-starred restaurants in the city-state to 33.

Singapore now has a total of nine two-Michelin-starred restaurants and three restaurants with three stars.

The city-state saw 1,267 food business closures between January and April this year, nearly half the total number of shutdowns seen throughout last year.

According to official statistics, 3,148 food businesses ceased operations in Singapore in 2025, up from 3,047 in 2024.
