MrBeast posted the video to Instagram on Sept. 21 with the caption, "scariest meal of my life." In the clip, the two are seen casually eating before the Manchester City forward turns to look in a mirror and appears to be frightened when he sees his reflection.

The skit references a widely circulated AI-generated clip that gained massive traction during the 2026 World Cup. The original footage appeared to show the 26-year-old star striker sitting in a diner and suddenly startling in surprise at his reflection. It was later revealed to be an AI-edited video using an original comedy clip by Chinese actor Jin Long. Through digital processing, Jin's face was swapped with Haaland's, and his outfit was altered to resemble a Norway kit.
Besides recreating the viral meme, Haaland also teased an upcoming appearance in a MrBeast YouTube video. The striker recently posted an Instagram photo captioned "2 YouTubers," to which MrBeast's official account replied, "Nice."
Haaland, one of the best strikers in the world, manages his personal YouTube channel, which boasts about 4.5 million subscribers. His most recent upload documents a day in the life of a professional footballer. The Norwegian international has previously collaborated with other prominent creators, including the YouTube group Sidemen.
Haaland has joined the Norway national team squad to prepare for upcoming international fixtures.
