Hong Ngoc Hospital offers maternity care for international families in Hanoi

The hospital offers maternity care covering antenatal examinations, prenatal screening, childbirth and postpartum follow-up, allowing expectant mothers to receive care within the same hospital system throughout pregnancy.

The approach helps maintain consistent medical records and reduces the need to move between healthcare facilities at different stages of care.

The hospital is accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI) and recognized by the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS) as an international-standard surgical education center. Its quality management procedures cover medical examinations, infection prevention and control, medication management, surgery and patient safety.

In maternal and newborn care, Hong Ngoc is the first private hospital in northern Vietnam recognized as a Center of Excellence for Breastfeeding Practices. It also operates a satellite human milk bank under the Human Milk Bank at Vietnam National Children's Hospital.

The milk bank provides pasteurized donor human milk to newborns when medically indicated, while mothers receive breastfeeding guidance after childbirth.

The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department includes physicians with doctoral and master's degrees and Specialist Level I and II qualifications. Many have previously worked at institutions including the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital.

The team provides routine antenatal care, high-risk pregnancy management, vaginal delivery, cesarean sections, and diagnosis and treatment of gynecological conditions.

For international families, language assistance is available throughout the care process. Some physicians communicate directly with patients in English, while additional support is available in Korean, Japanese and Chinese.

The multilingual service covers appointments, administrative procedures, examinations and treatment, helping patients understand test results, medical instructions, delivery options and potential complications.

International patients can book appointments through the hospital's hotline or mobile application and receive reminders for pregnancy checkups.

Medical examinations are available on weekends and selected public holidays, while emergency services, laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging operate around the clock.

For patients continuing treatment overseas, the hospital assists with preparing and transferring medical records and coordinating with receiving healthcare facilities.

Hong Ngoc works with more than 50 domestic and international insurance providers. Staff help patients check benefits, prepare documents and arrange direct billing where permitted by their policies.

The hospital offers single, double and VIP inpatient rooms for mothers and accompanying family members. Rooms include internet access and essential amenities, while meals are tailored to patients' medical conditions and nutritional needs. Nursing staff are available 24/7.

Maternity care packages cover different stages of pregnancy and include antenatal examinations, ultrasound scans, prenatal screening and nutritional counseling.

Delivery plans are determined by each patient's clinical condition and medical indications. Mothers and newborns receive care through delivery rooms, operating theaters and recovery units, with postpartum assistance and breastfeeding guidance.

For high-risk pregnancies involving diabetes, hypertension, preeclampsia, placenta previa, multiple pregnancies or fetal growth restriction, physicians develop individualized monitoring plans and coordinate care across specialties when needed.

The Gynecology and Breast Unit provides examinations and treatment for gynecological conditions, breast examinations and cancer screening. Minimally invasive procedures are available when clinically appropriate and may reduce hospital stays and recovery time.
