Designed with four traffic lanes and two emergency lanes, the expressway has a maximum speed limit of 100 kph. Key infrastructure, including toll stations, guardrails, noise barriers, and signage, is complete, with nearly 30 kilometers of the route already open to traffic.

Two major cable-stayed bridges, Binh Khanh and Phuoc Khanh, are key features of the route and have some of the highest navigational clearances in Vietnam.
The 2.76-km Binh Khanh Bridge crosses the Soai Rap River, linking Nha Be with Can Gio. It features a 375-m main span, two 155-m towers, and a 55-m navigational clearance. While the bridge is completed, it remains unopened because the unfinished Phuoc Khanh Bridge prevents the full route from connecting.
