The aircraft arrived at Phu Quoc International Airport on Tuesday. It is the first of eight A330s the airline plans to receive between September and April 2027.

With a range of up to 13,450 kilometers, the A330 will give the airline the capacity to develop more international routes. Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to gradually connect Phu Quoc, Vietnam's largest island, to major markets with strong tourism potential, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Japan and Australia, and eventually destinations in Europe.

The aircraft has 247 seats across three cabins: 20 business-class seats that recline 180 degrees into flat beds, 21 premium economy seats and 206 economy seats. All three cabins have personal entertainment screens and onboard Wi-Fi.

After nearly a year of operations, Sun PhuQuoc Airways has 20 narrowbody A321 aircraft, including two A321 Long Range jets. The arrival of the widebody A330 expands its fleet and enhances the passenger experience on long international flights.

With the addition of widebody aircraft, the airline expects its fleet to reach 33 planes by the end of 2026, 60 by the end of 2027 and 100 by the end of 2030.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways launched its maiden flight in November last year. It is operated by Sun Group, one of Vietnam's largest developers of resorts and theme parks.
